Saint-Jérôme, July 13, 2021 - Thanks to a $ 1.5M donation from the Saint-Jérôme Regional Hospital Foundation, the Laurentians will benefit from an additional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) room.
It is with pride that the Saint-Jérôme Regional Hospital Foundation joined the management team of the CISSS des Laurentides and the Deputy of Saint-Jérôme, Mr. Youri Chassin, for an official visit to the new Center. outpatient services at the Saint-Jérôme Regional Hospital. This new center will provide services for 3 departments, including MRI.
“The culmination of this project marks the conclusion of a major fundraising campaign. We would like to thank the 9,331 donors as well as the partners who have chosen to support this campaign. Despite the pandemic, we managed to complete this project, the budget of which was imposing. Together, we have just achieved an extraordinary regional project, "said the Chairman of the Foundation's board of directors, Mr. Thierry Lefebvre.
MRI - Is a medical imaging modality that takes pictures of the inside of the human body without the use of radiation. This device makes it possible, among other things, to promote early detection of cancer, which is essential to intervene in a better targeted and more efficient manner. The addition of this high-tech device will reduce the waiting time for users of the Laurentians, while avoiding directing them to remote centers.
The Foundation's mission is at the heart of such a project, says Chantale Fortin - Executive Director of the Foundation, because we are committed to supporting projects that directly improve the health services offered to Laurentians. Often times this translates into purchasing high tech medical equipment like adding this MRI. This achievement is a source of great pride for all!
